I've always believed a good story should make you feel something — root for two people who have every reason to stay apart, hold your breath when the danger gets too close, and breathe out when it all comes right in the end. That's the kind of book I set out to write with the Royals of Marvidinia, and the kind of book I love to read.

My name is Kellie Baker. I'm a novelist and poet living in northwest Georgia with my husband Jim, a retired U.S. Army combat veteran and my biggest champion — which probably explains why suspense comes as naturally to me as romance does. Before turning to fiction full-time, I had a previous life as an IT executive and, before that, a middle and high school foreign languages teacher. I'm a longtime polyglot with a love of romance languages — Latin, Spanish, and French — and I'm currently adding Italian to that list, along with a few phrases of Siswati, thanks to my son-in-law, who's originally from Eswatini in southern Africa.

I've been an avid reader since I could first make sense of words on a page, and I've never lost my appreciation for what a well-placed sentence can do — encourage, challenge, move you, stay with you. The Royals of Marvidinia series is the fulfillment of a long-held dream: to build a world readers want to live in for a while, and characters worth falling for.
